What is Autolens?
AutoLens is a one-stop, locally-focused guide platform built specifically for Malaysians shopping for their next used car.
We at AutoLens are pulling together all the must-know info — from common issues and maintenance tips to variant histories and trusted workshop recs — into one easy place. So you can shop for your next used car with confidence, and then keep it running smoothly long after the keys are in your hand.
Or to put it in Malaysian terms: we’re trying to be that one friendly unker who knows everything about cars, always knows a guy to fix any problem, and is more than happy to share his wisdom with you!

Why Autolens?
Very simply, because we collect and curate everything a Malaysian used car buyer wants to (and really should) know — all in one convenient place!
Our goal at AutoLens is simple: to equip you with the info you need to confidently buy your next used car, and to keep it running reliably for the long haul.
Each AutoLens guide includes:
- A curated selection of reviews from trusted Malaysian automotive reviewers, in the three major local languages.
- A full timeline of the car's life cycle in Malaysia — including facelifts, updates, special editions, and any recalls.
- A summary of common problems, based on feedback from actual Malaysian owners.
- A list of recommended independent workshops, again compiled from local community suggestions.
- Detailed technical specs for each variant officially sold in Malaysia.
- Plus whatever other small but useful info tid-bits you ought to know!
At AutoLens, we’re really all about real, on-the-ground insights from Malaysians who’ve actually owned these cars. We dig through forums, owners’ clubs, and even old brochures to make sure our info is relevant, accurate and truly local.
Who is behind Autolens?
AutoLens is run by four young Malaysians who love cars more than they have money — which probably explains why we spend so much of our time browsing used car listings.
But buying a used car on a tight budget can feels like an expensive gamble, especially when there’s barely any local info on what might go wrong, or who to turn to when it does.
And that frustration really hit home when one of us was seriously eyeing a BMW E90 3-Series, only to realise how hard it was to find out what typically fails on them here in Malaysia, let alone how much to budget for repairs.

Spot a Mistake? Want to Help? Let us know!
AutoLens is always evolving, and we’re always open to suggestions! Whether it is pointing out errors, sharing workshop tips, or just saying hello, drop us a line on our socials and we’ll be happy to chat.
Just to be clear here: we’re not affiliated with any of the workshops we list. But if you found one through us, feel free to let them know. It helps keep the circle going.
And yes, we know the site looks a little janky right now. It’s a passion project built by a few young petrolheads with more heart than budget. But we hope the content makes up for the looks, and would genuinely help you in your used car journey.
Like AutoLens? Share It!
Having spent all our money on our cars, our marketing budget at AutoLens is... well, basically zero. So if you find AutoLens helpful, please do share it with others!
Knowledge is power, and we want more Malaysians to feel confident in their next used car journey.
Happy used car hunting!
